Flowers of the Night

This is an 11 x 14 inch acrylic painting of flowers on a black background.  It is on canvas board and is framed.  I started by painting the board black, then when the paint dried, I painted the irises and other flowers over it.  I like the contrast between the dark background and the flowers, which seem to glow.  This is one of my favorite paintings.  I will consider any offers for this if you leave them in comments or at my email.

Hallucinogenous Portal

This is an 11 x 15 inch painting of a geometric construction.  It is framed under glass.  I constructed the design for this one with a compass, drawing a series of semicircles centered along the edges of the paper.  The design was colored in with India ink and metallic enamel.  The painting has an illusion of depth that seems to draw you into the center, where a metallic sunrise waits.  This is perhaps my favorite painting.  Feel free to leave any offers for this work in comments or at my email listed on the contact page.

Sugar Magnolia

This is an 11 x 14 watercolor on paper of some magnolia flowers on a branch.  It is framed under glass, so there is a slight reflection in the photograph.  I was going for an oriental style in this piece, hence the simple form and composition.  This is one of the few watercolors I have done.  This painting is one of my favorites.  Feel free to leave any comments or drop me a line if you are interested in owning this work.

Broken Glass Mountains of the Inferno Planet

This is an acrylic painting of a scene in orange and white with a touch of red.  It is 16 x 20 inches and is on canvas board.  I used the palette knife to block in some mountains that took on the appearence of broken pieces of glass heated incandescently.  The orange clouds show this to be on another planet where the temperature is much higher than it is on earth.  This piece is close to an abstract, as the forms do not overtly suggest a landscape, but imply one.  If you are interested in purchasing this painting, drop me a line in comments or email with an offer.

Moonrise of the Mermaid

The Green Knight Marches to His Doom

This is a 16 x 20 acrylic painting on canvas board.  This is one of a series of three paintings which I did using only one color and white.  This series turned out with an atmospheric look.  I used some mixing of paint to achieve a subtle image.  The sickly green suits this subject matter as it lends an air of doom to the painting that goes along with a knight marching to battle.  Contact me via email or comments if you are interested in owning this original work of art.

Sailing Superior Islands

This is an 11 x 14 oil painting of a small sailboat in the blue waters of Lake Superior.  There are orange rocks and some grasses and flowers in the foreground, and the sky is an overcast grey.  I like the color contrast of the green grass and the brilliant orange rocks.  This painting has a lonely feel to it, as the small boat sails in the big lake.  My favorite part of this work is the modeling of the rocks on the shore.  Feel free to leave comments or contact me with any offers for this painting.

Gnarly Tree and Cliffs

This is an oil painting done on stretched canvas of an old tree on the shore of a lake.  It is 11 x 14 inches in dimension.  I painted this a number of years ago when I was experimenting with oil paint.  I like the vibrant, glowing blue of the lake and the twisted form of the old tree.  The hazy sky in the background and the green trees on the brown cliff give this painting an illusion of depth.  If you are interested in owning this piece, drop me a line in comments or at my email.

Fall on Fire

Invasion of the Clouds

This is an 11 x 14 acrylic enamel painting done on canvas board.  It depicts an army of clouds in a night sky over a shack by a pond.  The style is schematic, in that the ground elements are done in white outline.  There are areas of dark blue and red in the painting, bringing some color to the night scene.  I like how the clouds seem to march over the sky above this surreal scene.  Contact me for information on purchasing this original painting, comments or email will both work.
